Lil B Releases 855-Song Mixtape, Uber-Based

If you have several days to spare and at least 5gb available on the hard drive then Lil B has just the thing for you: An 855-track based freestyle mixtape available for download. (Its title says it has 848 tracks, but it actually has 855.) It’s his longest release to date, and includes some of his classic joints, plus some new ones we’re guessing. As the Fader points out, Tumblr user No Highs was kind and patient enough to post the tracklist for the release, if you’re interested.

One track that doesn’t appear on the new mega-tape is “Gato Gato”, a new Lil B track on which the Latino BasedGod comes to life. Listen below.

Video: OnCue “New Religion” (Prod. Party Supplies & Just Blaze)

When’s the last time you saw VHS? More than likely it was your parents recording of your 5th grade graduation. We have all been overly exposed to Instagram’s vintage color filtering, so it really has lost it’s retro flair. Black and white is always cool, can’t real play that one out. But ohh how we have forgotten about the static line laced VHS cassette tape. It’s like the forgotten middle child, who no one really cares to ask about until they find out he or she was a genius after all. That appears to be the case in this new video release by rapper OnCue out of Brooklyn. This video and choice of editing is as surprising and refreshing as the artist himself. This self-titled “indie” rapper has made a name for himself throughout the New York underground scene, using rock and pop samples alike, to furnish his sound. He is most definitely not the typical white “college”, or “frat” rapper that the industry keeps spitting out like spent tobacco, and it is clearly evident in his lyrics that he does not fall in that category. Hooking up with one of our favorite producers, Party Supplies, and Just Blaze on this track lent a whole new level of swag to the already swag infested OnCue. Check out the video bellow…

Tigers in Cali

Irrational Monster would like to introduce Rapper/Producer Tiger Fang out of Berkeley, California. In the 50’s and 60’s Berkeley was characterized by rapid social changes, civic unrest, and political upheaval. It’s only natural that an artist such as Tiger Fang, would emerge and embody many of those revolutionary qualities within his personality and his music. With his DIY approach to his craft and the ferocity with which he attacks the mic, there is no mistaking Tiger Fang for any average emcee. His musical influences are varied to the point where you may jump from a sick melodic loop on one track to a mellow jazz tone, and then right into a bass heavy chopped and screwed arrangement. The fact is that it’s all original talent, not farmed in some million dollar studio, not mass-marketed B.S., it’s hard work and passion out of the West Coast and that’s all we can ask for here at Irrational Monster.

Tiger Fang is currently working on a new mixtape but we encourage you to check out his last release IL Principe below…

Chill Bump - Hidden Strings

Two EPs deep and still on the grind, Chill Bump released their latest EP, Hidden Strings, early last week. Beat-maker Bankal and wordsmith Miscellaneous make up the duo that is, Chill Bump. Both men hail from Tours, France, and this rapper/producer duo have enjoyed critical acclaim and gained a faithful following due to their flawless production, and raw sound. This socio-politically charged group delivers a heavy dose of real world factoids that will diverge you from the normal hip hop routine, but not without some sick samples and ingenious wordplay from Miscellaneous.

Here’s a sample track off of the new EP, which is available for free download

Hidden Strings is a follow-up to the duo’s second EP, Back To the Grain which was released back in March of this year. Hidden Strings is the perfect sucession to Back To the Grain, as the group has toned it downed and hit us with some real mellow vibes.
