Kendrick Lamar Talks New Album

After the release of Section.80 back in July of last year Kendrick Lamar was hailed as the prince of the west. The album received much critical acclaim and quickly rose to most people’s, top 5 album of the year list. Kendrick’s fan base has been waiting patiently for another dose of the west-coast emcee’s brilliant wordplay and illuminative lyrics.

In an interview with GowhereHipHop Kendrick told his fans that his next release, good kid, m.A.A.d city, will be different from, Section.80. “I love the element of surprise, I didn’t want to do nothing the same way as Section.80. I always want to challenge myself and take it to the next level.” With Kendrick, different doesn’t scare us. It just leaves us asking ourselves, what more can this kid do to creatively distinguish himself, after his unmatched performance on Section.80?

In an interview with Tim Westwood, Kendrick stated that he has already recorded 40 songs for the upcoming album. “I’ve probably done about 40 records. I’ll narrow it down to like 13.” Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just get all 40? We are looking forward to this highly anticipated album release, which should be coming October of this year.

A King Out of the West

What The Fuck!?!?

The Monster is scratching his head right now. Why we have not heard of the contemporary Rapper/Produced, Curtiss King, straight out of SoCal, until recently is baffling. After a stellar performance at Paid Dues earlier this year in California, Curtis saying it was “one of the GREATEST days of my life”, he then went on to produce ““A Rebellion” ft. Alori Joh off Ab-Soul’s album Control System. The album Control System went on to be #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts.” In April of this year, Curtiss King released the first single to his debut album AtyChiphobia -“The Fear Of Failure”. Hear him talk about the concept behind his latest single released off AtyChiphobia
Read his full bio here

Curtiss King is definitely an artist that Irrational Monster throws its support behind. He embodies today’s definition of a Hip Hop artist, an artist who throws himself into his music and uses real life experience to paint a relatable picture for his listeners. He doesn’t have to dilute his musical talent with gun-talk and the idealization of street life in his lyrics to gain the respect and admiration of his fans. He reminds us, that Hip Hop was born out of good times, and the coming together of communities. So with the swag of a SoCal sunset and the roar of an NYC subway car, Curtiss King is sweeping the scene and leaving nothing in his wake.
